FVAQ Round 1 – Queensland Raceway February 28 – March 1, 2026.
The 2026 FVAQ Championship roared into life at Queensland Raceway, delivering four action-packed races and an early statement in the title fight.
Hedemann Starts Strong
Alexander Hedemann laid down a serious marker for the championship, claiming three race wins across the weekend and amassing a commanding 116 points. His consistency and outright pace proved too strong, particularly in Races 1, 2 and 4 where he controlled proceedings from the front. With maximum points in multiple races and strong bonus performances, Hedemann leaves Round 1 as the early championship leader.
Beswick Shows Speed
Alex Beswick was one of the standout performers of the weekend. After securing pole position, he converted strong pace into multiple podium finishes and a Race 3 victory. Unfortunately, a DNF in Race 4 hurt his overall tally, but he still walks away second in the standings on 83 points — proving he’ll be a serious contender in 2026.
Beahan Consistent Under Pressure
Chris Beahan delivered a consistent and composed weekend to secure third overall on 77 points. While just shy of the outright race-winning pace, steady finishes across all four races ensured valuable championship points. That consistency could prove crucial as the season unfolds.
Tight Midfield Battles The midfield fight was intense all weekend:
Jeff Robinson finished just behind the podium positions on 72 points, showing impressive consistency.
Ryan Mills charged hard across the weekend to tally 71 points, highlighted by a strong Race 4 performance.
Eddie McFaul showed front-running pace but was hampered by a DNF, finishing on 66 points.
Adam Beswick remained in the mix with 64 points.
Adrian Taylor and Peter Butler rounded out the top ten after battling through mixed results.
