COMMITTEE

The Committee on behalf of the Formula Vee Association of Queensland (FVAQ), administers Formula Vee racing within Queensland. This includes operating the club championship; the financial role as promoter of events; competitor communications and assistance; active liaison with Formula Vee Association of Australia  in regards to technical regulations and sporting matters; promotion and marketing; fund raising and social events.

The FVAQ is governed by the by-laws as set out in the Formula Vee Queensland Constitution. The Committee works to ensure Formula Vee remains an affordable and accessible form of motorsport.

Formula Vee QueenslandOUR Management Team

Club PresidentMark Moran

Mark joined Formula Vee Qld in 2020 and joined the committee in 2022 as Category Manager. In 2023 he was elected as President and has had his term extended into 2024                                                                                                                      .

Vice PresidentTim Alder

Tim has a long history in working on Formula Vee cars but only joined the club in 2020. This is his third year serving as Vice President on the committee.                                                                                                                                     

 

Club TreasurerBruce Acheson

Bruce joined the FVAQ in 2004 and has remained a member ever since. He is now our longest standing member He has been the Treasurer since 2005 and is also the longest standing committee member.                                                                                      .

Club SecretaryDavid Hedemann

David joined the club in 2016 and has previously served on the committee as President, Vice President, Secretary and Category Manager.                                                                                                                                                                                                         .

Category ManagerEd Lawrence

Ed is a newcomer to FVAQ having only joined in 2021. He served as Category Manager in 2023 and didsuch a great job that he has been re-elected agin for 2024                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      .

Media ManagerAlistair Francis

Alistair joined the club in 2021 and although this is his first year sering on the committee, he has been providing technical support for both the FVAA and FVAQ websites since early 2023.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    .

Technical DirectorJohn Alder

John has provided technical oversight for the club since the dinosaurs walked the earth. In 2023 he was awarded  Life Membership for his services to the club. There are many, many drivers who thought their weekend was finished early but were helped back onto the track by John.
