Race Report Round 3 2026 Morgan Park

26 May 2026

The 2026 FVAQ Championship delivered another massive weekend of racing at Morgan Park for Round 3, with close battles, dramatic DNFs and a championship fight that is evolving at the top.

Morgan Park continues to produce some of the best Formula Vee racing in Queensland, with slipstream battles and race-long pressure right through the field.

Alexander Hedemann was the benchmark all weekend, sweeping every race victory and claiming multiple fastest laps to score a dominant 124-point haul. The clean sweep extends his championship lead and reinforces his status as the driver everyone is chasing heading deeper into the 2026 season.

Chris Beahan produced another consistently strong weekend to finish second overall for the round on 94 points. Strong podium finishes across all four races kept the pressure on the championship leader and moves up to second place in the standings.

The battle behind them was fierce. Adam Beswick edged out Alex Beswick for third overall after a hard-fought weekend. Alex showed race-winning speed with strong results and a fastest lap in Race 2, but an unfortunate DNF in Race 3 proved costly in both the round and championship standings.

Ed Lawrence quietly put together a strong performance, his first race in about 12months, scoring solid points in every race to finish the round with 72 points.

Mark Moran, returning to racing for the first time this year, along with Jeff Robinson also remained consistent contributors at the front of the Masters field, while Ryan Mills continued his season with another reliable weekend to remain firmly inside the championship top six.

Further down the order, Brett Hanan, John Reichstein and Adrian Taylor all enjoyed competitive weekends with close midfield racing throughout the four-race format. Newcomer to Formula Vee, Daniel Kirkham along with Peter Butler both endured mixed fortunes, with DNFs impacting their final results despite flashes of strong pace.

After three rounds, the outright championship picture is beginning to take shape. Alexander Hedemann now leads the 2026 FVAQ Championship on 317 points ahead of Chris Beahan on 272, with Alex Beswick remaining close behind on 269. Adam Beswick and Jeff Robinson are tied on 204 points in a crucial battle for fourth place overall.

In the Masters Cup, Adam Beswick and Jeff Robinson are now deadlocked at the top on 204 points a piece. Eddie McFaul holds third position, while Adrian Taylor and Brett Hanan continue to try and close the gap behind.

With Morgan Park again producing fast, competitive and unpredictable racing, attention now turns to the next round as the fight for the 2026 FVAQ Championship continues to build.
